Will Huchton is a photographer whose work focuses on intense landscapes, abstract conceptual images, and musical performances. He needed an online space for his photography with the ability to blog about his experiences, and an online portal to sell prints of his work.
I was immediately inspired by his shots. They are extremely visceral and tell a deep story the way quality photos should! I knew that he needed a site that would showcase this, and get out of the way of the work, so to speak.
We began by nailing down his logo. He was thinking of something simple and square that could also be used as a watermark. He suggested a periodic element square. I loved this idea for how it related to his natural geography photos. We kept it simple with either black or white options.
For his website, we chose a look that is minimal and stylish so the imagery would speak for itself. There are easy to use and filterable galleries so he can upload albums as he produces more work. He also has a journal area to share the stories behind some of his adventures and resulting photos. The Shop page acts as a portal to his shop on Fine Art America, where users can purchase prints of his work directly from the website.
