Your creativity knows no bounds.
You work hard at your passion business EVERY DAY and would do it even if there were no money involved.
The black-on-white, one-size-fits-all website and online presence isn’t cutting it for you and your brand vision.
You prefer to spend your time doing what you do and don’t want the hassle of worrying about your online presence. Your work should speak for itself!
Sorry, friend, but that’s not all there is to thriving with a creative business online.
There are at least 100 other creatives that share your dream business. You don’t want to mimic the crowd and blend into the background. The only way to attract your best customers is to apply your personal style, tastes and interests to what you are offering.
Maybe you’ve heard buzz around needing a personal brand or you’ve been thinking about how to incorporate your style into your online presence to truly stand out.
But I don’t know the first thing about branding, or how to do it for myself in a way that feels genuine.
A blog Series that will guide you through
Designing a visual style guide that attracts your audience
Who is this series for?
Creative workers like bloggers, artisans, stylists, photographers and entrepreneurs with a strong sense of style, identity, and values. You understand having a cohesive brand is necessary when doing business online. You’re so into what you do that it can be difficult to see your business from the outside. Branding is on your to-do list, but you don’t know where to start or are struggling to figure out how to bring your style and taste to your website, Etsy shop, social media accounts, or marketing materials.
What is a brand story?
A visual collection of color, tone, imagery, and textures that communicate your vision clearly and powerfully to your audience better than words every could. A well-designed brand story is an elegant mix of your interests with your creative profession. Attract your ideal customers when they first land on your website, see your business card or check out your social media profile.
How will I create my own brand story?
This series will help you identify the core elements of your style and bring them to the surface. We will work step by step to create your inspiration board, choose your color palette, discover your tone, and create imagery. The end result will be a visual style guide you will reference when creating your website, logo, blog content, business cards, social media banners and all marketing materials for your creative business!
This is the first step in creating your authentic identity to stand out from the crowd.
What do I need?
A little time to contemplate your creative business and where you want to take it. I would carve out about an hour a week to work through the exercises in each post. I do recommend having Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator or other equivalent software for manipulating imagery and creating mood boards, color palettes and your final style guide. You can sign up for Adobe Creative Cloud for a free 30-day trial.
We’re in this together.
I’ll be working through my own branding for my Etsy vintage shop, Avant Heir, so you will see the process as it unfolds! I’m so excited to share this method in a truly transparent way with you. I will be available in the comments to answer any questions you have or help out if you get stuck.
