Colleen Coyne is an integrative veterinary practitioner who needed a brand and website for her personal business, Spectrum Veterinary Care. She attracts clients who are modern, educated, and looking for a progressive approach when it comes to the care of their pets. Colleen specializes in Chinese acupuncture methods for the care of animals where Western medicine may not be the best option. She practices a truly balanced approach however, using her expertise to decide on the best course of treatment for her patient’s needs.
We started out the branding process with Colleen answering some deep questions in my Branding Planner to get at the heart of who she is personally, and how she envisions her business coming across online. We collaborated on a mood board that spoke to her passions for the animal-human bond, outdoors, spectrums, and warm stone textures.
Armed with fantastic inspirations, I went to work designing a logo that would appeal to her modern, urban clientele while staying true to her passion for Chinese medicine. It was important to incorporate the Chinese Elemental Pentagram, which is a star formation of the natural elements used in acupuncture and other practices. We went through lots of rounds to find the right fit, but in the end we were both happy with a logo that subtly suggested the 5 elements, and found that the color palette also works well as a spectrum for the website and other marketing materials.
For the Spectrum Vet Care style guide, I created a color palette and imagery that blended Colleen’s personal style with a clean, polished professional presence.
Our next step is creating a one of a kind web presence that will attract her ideal clients, guide them through her process, and get her hired consistently! Stay tuned!
