Salon Moxi is an independent boutique salon in the uber-hip neighborhood of Capitol Hill in Seattle, WA. The stylists are committed to cultivating personal and sensible style for each individual client. They needed a website that would help convey their unique style, display relevant information for prospective clients, and have a blog to engage with users about their craft. The concept for the physical salon space was very distinctive, and the website needed to be as well. Inspiration came from a sophisticated flea market finds, irreverent mid-century photography, and the Taschen’s Cabinet of Natural Curiosities book. The end result melds these influences as well as shows the quirky and fun personalities of the talented stylists.
We started with the owner Carlin’s Pinterest mood board. I immediately followed the Salon Moxi board when I saw this, it was so inspiring!
Salon Moxi already had their logo and branding in place, so they came to me for strategy and development of their website. Being a former hairstylist, I had ideas to help out their workflow around the salon as well as ways to promote themselves with social media. The result is a website that reflects their unique perspective complete with a way to get to know the stylists, a custom Request an Appointment form, and blog to connect with their clientele.
